When I was sixteen years old, I had a single thought that would empower my life forever:

Fireflies Aren’t Meant to Live in Jars.

This quote still provides me with confidence and inspiration every day. Read my post: Breaking the Jars: Intention Behind my Blog, to hear my story.

Ten years later, I fell in love with the healing powers of nature while working at a therapeutic wilderness program in North Carolina. I led backpacking trips with adolescents who were struggling with emotional and behavioral difficulties. I supported them, aided in the facilitating of change and, in doing so, became inspired to take positive action for myself.

Being in the wilderness has brought me sun and rain, anger and anxiety, bug bites, bruises, and uphill climbs to beautiful views. Every challenge I experienced in nature has strengthened me, and has continuously led me to find the beauty of transformation within myself.

I hope you find my blog inspiring.

Let’s share our stories!

Let’s break our jars!

Oh my goodness, I am so happy to have delved deeper into your blog. I wholeheartedly believe in the healing power of nature, and yet I also acknowledge the immense power and danger it can hold. I am hoping to incorporate nature more into my life, especially as my anxiety begs me to stay home instead of hiking… it’s a little like torture. Great to read your posts and know that others have fears too, and have faced them! It inspires me.

Thank you for being here and sharing your stories! ❤
